Bangrak and Big Buddha Beach Travel Information Guide

Big Buddha beach is located in the Northeast of Samui with smooth sand, good swimming preferences and safe for children.

This area is quiet but has everything to offer like restaurants, bars and shopping opportunities. Most resorts and restaurants enjoy beachside dining. Certainly most of Big Buddha has remained unfancy and cheap but there are a few high- end dining venues. The waters here are not as crystal clear as the eastern board but you will enjoy all year round swimming and peace. There are no beach vendors operating on this stretch. It is still a very unspoilded beach despite the growth in the area.

From here visit the famous "Big Budha Temple". Wat Phra Yai Temple, in other words Big Buddha is certainly the most visited temple of Samui. The statue of the Big Buddha measures 12 metres in height and can be seen from several kilometres away. There are plenty of small shops, local craft stalls and restaurants around the temple.

The nightlife of Chaweng is just a 15min drive away from the more busy Chaweng. From here you have fantastic views over the Big Buddha and Koh Phangan.
